Shooting at Walter Reed

I've always wondered about the intelligence of our security guards here at Walter Reed. It has now been confirmed that they are complete idiots. As far as I'm concerned, they should be put in a box with Vice President Cheney as members of the American public NOT allowed to carry a weapon. Earlier today, two security guards had a personal disagreement that ended in gun shots. No one was injured. I have yet to decide what part of the situation is more depressing. That the guard (who's only job is to sit at the gate and check I.D.'s) felt he had to open fire on a fellow employee to solve a problem, or that the man was unable to hit a target that was within a few feet of him. Let me say that I am against shooting your fellow citizens, but when a man that is suppose to be protecting me from danger that may be entering these gates and he is unable to use his weapon accurately... I'm concerned.

So dear Walter Reed I suggest you step up and take action. Maybe we could use our own military police for gate security. After all, the only time I see them is when they are taking a nap while their vehicle is parked and running. What a waste of payroll.

Here is the complete story.

*As a side note- It may come across that I dislike our Vice President. To be completely honest I don't know a whole lot about the man so I have no feelings of like or dislike towards him. I just find it incredibly entertaining to poke fun at his accident. I do apologize for any hurt feelings.

I saw that article and my first thought was "What if one of the guys got hit?" My second thought was "What if a family member got hit?" Assuming the jerk could actually hit something.

You're right, we need to have only professionals there. Not rent-a-cops with guns. I know, I used to be one.

I am with you. Not sure what is worse: shooting to solve a dispute or not being able to hit such a close target. Hmmm.

Agreeing with butterfly wife. both scenerios are frightening.

I like your solution of the MP's working the gate. Makes sense to me.
